Stephanie Beaver Alder earned her Masters Degree in Counseling from Saint Mary’s College of California and her Bachelors Degree in Human Development from UC Davis. She earned her Associates Degree from Woodland Community College, where she also worked for nearly ten years in various departments, including EOP&S/CARE,TRiO SSS, CalWORKs, Tutoring, and the Foster and Kinship Care Education Program. She worked as a Classified Staff Member before becoming an Adjunct Faculty Counselor, where she worked in General Counseling, Transfer, EOP&S/CARE, TRiO SSS, and CalWORKs. Her passion is social justice and equity in education.
Before coming to Columbia, Stephanie also worked as an Academic/Career Counselor for the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation. Stephanie is an enrolled member of the Hupa tribe, from Hoopa, California, and has a young daughter. She just relocated from Davis, and enjoys running, cycling and swimming. She is looking forward to getting to know everyone here at Columbia.
