Heather started with Columbia College in 2006 teaching part-time in the Child Development Department. She has a bachelor's degree in Child Development from California State University, Stanislaus; a master's degree in Education from Chapman University; and a doctorate degree in Education from Capella University. She has over 20 years of experience with K-12 public education and higher education.

Heather is married and has an adult son and a two-year-old granddaughter. She enjoys snow skiing, golfing, hiking, reading, and spending time with her granddaughter.
