About

How great it is to have the opportunity to teach at Columbia College! ... one of the most beautiful campuses on the planet.  I have worked as an Engineering Geologist and Geotechnical Engineer for most of my professional career.  My special interests include landslides, earthquakes and faults, and geohazard assessment.  I participate in geologic exploration, engineering design, and construction phases for a variety of projects, including: buildings, roads, bridges, water and wastewater facilities, pipelines, wind farms, rail and airports, levees and dams, and earth-retaining structures.  These projects have taken me to the North Slope of Alaska, remote villages in Nepal, Hawaii, Abu Dhabi and, most recently, to exotic Moccasin California where I coordinated improvements projects for the aging Hetch Hetchy Water and Power facilities.
