Summer 2013: English 1A Online Students:

About

I earned my Master of Arts degree in English (Literature concentration) from CSU Stanislaus; I am now lucky enough to teach a wide range of English classes at Columbia College, Modesto Junior College, and CSU Stanislaus.  In a rare bit of spare time, I like to get lost in a great story, and my favorite novels include Gone With the Wind (Margaret Mitchell), A Farewell to Arms (Ernest Hemingway), On the Road (Jack Kerouac), and all seven books in the Harry Potter series.

Why I Love to Teach:

Written communication extends into our world, the air we breathe, and the spirit of our culture--it is what preserves our society, and, at the same time, what pushes us forward.  I firmly, firmly, firmly believe that reading, writing, and learning are intricately intertwined with each other.  In my classes, there are heavy doses of both reading and writing, and—as a result—you will learn more about who you are as a writer in the college realm and what techniques to utilize in order to succeed.  Keep this in mind: A clear, logical, responsible and creative expression of thought is a valuable asset in almost any work environment.  It is my goal to help you, the student, begin your journey through academia and beyond!
