About

I was born in the San Francisco Bay Area, but moved to Calaveras County as a child.  I attended local schools and graduated from Bret Harte High School.  Shortly after graduation, I joined the US Army and spent 4 years as a vehicle mechanic.  I was stationed in Germany for three of those years.  While living and working in Germany, I had the opportunity to travel and see much of Western Europe.  Upon returning to the United States, I was able to use my GI Bill to go to college and earn the following degrees:

AA Degree, Liberal Studies
Columbia Community College, Sonora, CA
2002

BA Degree, History
CSU, Stanislaus, Turlock, CA
2004

MA Degree, History
CSU, Stanislaus, Turlock, CA
2007

MA Degree, Political Science
CSU, Sacramento, Sacramento, CA
2019 (anticipated)

In January 2015, I was presented with the Richard Taylor Pioneer Award by the Society for the Preservation of West Calaveras History for my preservation efforts of local history.
