Principles of Evolution and Zoology,  BIO 4 - The course explores how animals and non-photosynthetic single celled eukaryotic taxa function including comparative anatomy, physiology, development, life cycles and behavior among phyla. Students will also deepen their understanding of the nature of science and practice scientific reasoning skills.

Much to his surprise, Mr. Whalen finds that he is a professional science educator, having by now instructed the following courses (among others) at varying levels ranging from 9th grade to a Professional Master's Program at institutions as various as private prep schools to State University.

Mr. Whalen began teaching after he got tired of working as a fisheries and marine mammal biologist in Alaska and California.

he became a marine biologist after realizing that he was getting too old to be an ambulance EMT.
